Love your set up by the way. I agree with what you had to say, and what George Saunders had to say as well. The media is "dumbing down" society and you can see it in the television programming that is most watched. All the new reality television shows that keep coming out, the Survivors and Big Brothers out there. Because our real lives are reality enough. Maybe society does need to focus on the bigger picture, things like war or people who are making a difference. But, then again, in this day and age, everyone is looking for the next big entertaining thing to come out on TV. Things like people making a difference aren't seen as such a big deal to the masses anymore. Stations like Fox are a horrible representation of what America is. We aren't one sided, dumbed down, individuals.
